Party Time!

A couple days after Christmas we went to Amy's house to play games. Bryant brought Heart Attack, a game Barry has talked about for years but I've never played. It definitely gets your adrenaline pumping!
Barry took the kids to Oakley for New Year's Eve. He was even nice and let Quinton and Clara stay up, but apparently they got a little hyper and weird, haha.

A Holly Jolly Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas. On Christmas Eve we delivered homemade donuts to neighbors and had a fancy dinner. Christmas morning is so fun as a mom to watch my kids open their gifts. We spent the day being lazy and playing laser tag at the church.

Happy 13th Anniversary!

Barry and I celebrated our 13th anniversary in a little different way. We thought we had tickets to a Christmas play, but they didn't work out, so I gave him his Christmas present early and we went shooting at a gun range. He was pretty surprised and never thought I'd get him something like that. We discovered we're pretty big chickens about guns, though. We shot a 9mm and it was powerful! Made for a fun memory. Love my partner in crime!

December

Life was busy in December, but a good busy. Quinton won first place in the science fair for his gummy bear osmosis experiment and his Reflections story is also moving onto the next level. Warren did a great job finishing his basketball season. His team did really well! The kids like to climb in our ottoman/blanket storage to watch TV sometimes, it's really cute. Clara also got a 1st place prize for a Christmas story she wrote!  We performed baptisms and sealings at the Bountiful temple with Amy's family (I was happy to FINALLY go with Quinton). Quinton also did a great job at his first orchestra concert! I'm really impressed with how well our kids are doing in school and at their activities. Shari, Triston, and Connor came to celebrate Clara's birthday with us. We love having them!

Clara Turns 11!

Our little girl isn't so little anymore. She is kind, compassionate, artistic, determined, thoughtful, feisty, and sweet. She is such an important member of our family and we love her! We celebrated her 11th birthday with a hot cocoa bar, ice skating, breakfast in bed, shopping all day with Shari, and eating yummy treats.

Gingerbread Nativities

I made the kids use up their Halloween candy in a worthwhile activity. It's fun to see their artistic abilities come out!

Christkindlmarkt and Nativity

This is the Place has a German Christmas market that is so fun to go to. We went two years ago just before Miles was born. This year Grandma and Grandpa Decker went with us. A couple days after that was our ward party. We were asked as a family to act out the Christmas nativity. We asked the Rawlings family to join us and the kids did a wonderful job. It was really special to watch them.

Miles Turns 2!

We had a blast celebrating this little guy's second birthday! We celebrated once in Rexburg with family after Thanksgiving and then again as a family on his actual birthday. He even got two Elmo cakes! For his birthday we went to the Hogle Zoo. Miles loves animals. It was a cold Monday night, so there weren't a ton of animals out, but there weren't any people either, which was fun. Then we went to have dinner at the City Creek Mall and to walk around Temple Square. We were at the Giving Machine in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building when I realized Miles wasn't with us. I panicked, but found him quickly in another part of the room just in the middle of the crowds. I was so happy he was okay. He is such an important member of our family and we all love him to pieces!

Miles is definitely taking his two-year-old-ness to heart. Some things he does: Climbs on counters, opens doors he shouldn't, writes on walls, tells me "no" all day long, flings oatmeal around the kitchen, avoids sleep, won't sit still, bites his siblings and breaks their stuff, takes his shoes off 37 times in the store shopping cart but gets mad if you don't put them back on, and gets away with all of it 'cause he's so dang cute!  If the house is too quiet, I panic suddenly and yell, "Where's Miles?!" Because often you'll find him sneaking food, destroying something, applying makeup in the sink, or playing in water. It also took some work to get him to blow out birthday candles, but once he figured it out, he asked us over and over and over to light them so he could do it again. He's a handful, but we love him!
