Blue and Gold Banquet

Shari and the Boys moved out to their own apartment in February, but they came back for one last pack meeting. The boys got a whole bunch of awards at the Blue and Gold Banquet.

Chopped

The kids like to occasionally watch the show Chopped on Food Network. We decided on President's Day when we had some down time to have a Chopped Dinner. I teamed up with Quinton and Warren to make an appetizer. Barry, Clara, and Sawyer made a lasagna type main dish. We bought the ingredients for each other. It was a lot of fun, but created a lot of dirty dishes!

School Stuff

I'm so grateful for teachers who can take a large group of kids and keep them entertained, motivated, and educated. I go crazy after volunteering for an hour at the elementary. But the kids have been busy at school. Warren went on a fun trip to Pizza Pie Cafe to see how pizza gets made. And they got to eat some.

We went to a Valentine's Day playgroup at the Burch's.

Clara gave an awesome animal report on horses. She did great!

Quinton got 3rd place in the spelling bee for all 2nd and 3rd graders! I was so impressed.

In the Wintertime

Oh, what do you do in the wintertime, when all the world is white? And covered in snow? And covered in ice? And blowing and biting through? You suffer through, oh yes, you do.
Yes, it has been a long January and February with an eternal winter and inches and inches of snow. Even when it would warm up a little, the snow would melt into slushy raging rivers that were even worse. Then it snowed some more. To survive such weather...

Study scriptures and plan seminary lessons. (Daddy, but Sawyer joined in.)

Eat frozen yogurt.

Snuggle with your brother to stay warm.

Organize your collection of overly cute stuffed animals.

Give up and play in the snow.

Celebrate Chinese New Year at Activity Days.

Hibernate.

Take a break from squabbling and bickering to wrestle and play.

Eat more ice cream after visiting Grandma and Grandpa Jenks.

Enjoy the sunset.

Wait for Spring.

Play with play dough.

Get the van fixed that got hit because of the snow.

Shovel the snow some more and hope it just might warm up soon.

ISU Family Day

This is the second year we went to the ISU family day. They had lots of activities, food, and free T-shirts. It was fun! And exhausting of course.
