New Year's Eve

We rarely do much on New Year's Eve, but this year we did! I put some activities in balloons to count down to the New Year (9:00) and Amy, Jared, Gage, Nancy, and Rich came for dinner and games. We made customized blondies, played lots of games, and even arm wrestled. 2023 Was a great year!

 

December

Aside from all the Christmas and Birthday Festivities here are some fun things we did.

I had a Christmas/Bunco party with friends.

Clara went to the temple with her jump rope friends. 

I also went with friends to Plated Dreams for brunch.

We ate at Annie's with Grandma and Grandpa Decker.

Sawyer went skiing for his first time.

Barry's seminary did a huge diaper donation drive.

Clara had a tumbling showcase.

We played at the church with friends.

The boys made an epic car track the first day of winter break.

 

After Christmas

The week after Christmas we were in Rigby for a couple days. I got to see my friend Erin and Warren discovered Grandpa's chair. We drove home through Lava Hot Springs and used our new Get Out Pass for a dip in the hot pools after stopping in Pocatello for Chinese food and ice cream. A couple days later Barry took Triston, Connor, Quinton, and Clara up to a cabin in the mountains for a night while Shari and I took the younger boys to a new play place, Uptown Jungle.

 

Christmas

Christmas was really nice this year. We did a few of our normal things getting ready for it, but also some new ones. We went to the free sing along at the Delta Center and it was really cool. Charles and Carolyn came to visit on the 22nd and we went to the Ogden lights and out to dinner with them. Christmas Eve was on Sunday and it was nice to go to church that day. We made our big Italian feast that day and I made the kids solve some clues, like an escape room, before opening presents Christmas morning. That afternoon we drove up to Rigby and spent a couple days there. We had a great time making chocolates and going to see Wonka.

 

Clara Turns 15!

We had fun celebrating Clara's birthday. We went shopping at a Christmas market, ate Chinese food for lunch, and went to the mall. She opened presents and we went and saw some lights and Santa Claus before watching a movie. I'm grateful she likes to do some Christmas things for her birthday, but we try to keep it separate. I also made her a bunch of cake pops! Barry also took them skiing the day before her birthday and I took her some pizza at school, though she had a bunch of tests, jump rope, and tumbling on the actual day. A few days later she took her driving test and now has her permit!

Clara has such a kind and courageous heart, always doing good for those around her. She also jumps and runs and bakes and is incredibly fun to be around! She keeps me sane in this house full of boys and I'm so blessed to be her mother. 

 

Basketball

Miles played basketball for the first time this year. It was exciting to see the kindergarteners running around like crazy on the court, haha. Miles actually did really well. He made 2 baskets on his birthday!

Sawyer had a great season too. It's fun to play with so many friends.

 

Miles Turns 6!

Miles turned 6! He is wild and sweet and smart and goofy. And he is ALWAYS asking when the next fun thing is! We love him!

He was star student at school and we went on a date to Red Robin. He got breakfast in bed and opened presents and we had a "snow" party at the church with his friends. Clara made him a very yummy vanilla cake.
