August

Our busy summer flowed over into August. At Sawyer's well check this year, he still had a heart murmur the doctor had noticed the year before. He had us go to Primary Children's Hospital and Sawyer got an echocardiogram. We were a little nervous, but the doctor said everything is fine and it's something he will probably grow out of.
We ran a race in memory of Travis Thurgood, a Launch Team coach that passed away in January.
We cleaned trash cans one day this summer.
Barry and I went to see our neighbor at the CenterPoint Theater in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Quinton planned an overnighter up Baer Canyon and ended up letting their younger brothers come, so Warren got to go, too.
I went to see The Johnson Files with my friend Sandy and her sister.
Warren and Sawyer went to a fun Hogwarts Activity.
Fun was had at the yearly ward party at Farmington Pool.

Clara and Heather Hike to Timpanogas Cave

Clara and I were invited by her friend Chloe's mom to hike to Timpanogas Cave with them. It is a super steep hike, so we practiced hiking Deuel Creek together, which was fun because it has a swing. Timpanogas Cave was really cool. The tour guide told us all about the formations and how it was discovered. Some parts like the doors in the mountain gave off Lord of the Rings vibes. Morgan and Chloe are great friends to Clara and I'm glad we got to go with them.

Back to School

Our summer was so crazy that going back to school and routine was definitely a relief. Quinton started ninth grade and Clara started eighth at Kaysville Junior High. Warren started 5th grade with Mrs. Hyde and Windridge and Sawyer is in Mrs. Enfield's 3rd grade class. On back to school night we met the elementary teachers and Warren showed me the self-portrait that's included in an art display at the school. The younger boys also enjoyed breakfast with friends the first day at the Rawlings.

Capitol Reef National Park and Gimli

Barry and I got a little impulsive before taking the kids on a trip and purchased a camper van we dubbed Gimli the Adventure Wagon. It was definitely an adventure driving without A/C and slowly getting to new places. We really had a ton of fun, though. We were able to stay at the campground right inside the park. They have an amphitheater and deer roaming around and a pie shop. The kids explored near the campground and we also hiked the Grand Wash trail and Hickman bridge. I can't remember the names of all the places we visited, though.
Capitol Reef National Park is AMAZING and I would go back in a second.
