We didn't want to squander the last days of summer so we packed as much fun in as possible. One day we went fishing in the morning at the Wellness Complex, then we went to Lava Hot Springs for swimming and ended at Bamboo Garden. We were all exhausted by the end of the day, but it was fun!

First Day of School
The first day of school!!! Woohoo!
(Not that moms get excited over that kind of thing)
Having cousins to go with is going to make this year even more exciting. Quinton has Mrs. Cullinan and Clara has Ms. M, Quinton's teacher from last year.
Warren started school a week later at Munchkin University. He really likes his new teacher and his friend Natalie is in his class. The first couple weeks were a hard adjustment for him, but with a new sticker chart things are looking up!

Bannack and Crystal Park
I told them they were all crazy to want to drive 8 hours in a day, but we did it anyway and went on an adventure to Montana where we visited a ghost town called Bannack and dug up crystals at Crystal Park. It ended up being a really neat experience and the kids absolutely loved it. It's a really neat town that has been well preserved.
Sawyer is quite the explorer.
Here we are in front of the old grand hotel.
We went on a little hike up to the cemetery which gave a nice view of the whole town.
Quinton is preaching his stuff.
We almost left the kids in the jail, but took them to school instead.
Then they got a fun ride in the back of a 100-year-old truck through the town.
All of them had a blast looking for crystals. None of them were super big, but definitely a lot of fun to find.

Warm River
We went with Shari, Grandma, and Ben up to Warm River to float one day. It's such a fun place to go for a picnic, float a few times, play in the water, and feed the fish.

Summer Days
What a crazy summer we had! June was kind of a laid-back month where we kept busy at home with our summer charts and activities. July started out crazy and stayed super busy. In August we tried to fit some more fun in before school started. Here are a few of the things we did.
We went bowling with the Burches
Splashed at the splash park in Rexburg
Played with kitties at Grandma's house
Enjoyed our new picnic table
At Grandma's house -
"Mom can we get just a little wet in the sprinkler?"
"I guess if you don't get soaked. I didn't bring extra clothes." (I said this about five times.)
"Don't worry. We'll dry out!"
This happened ten minutes later with his Triston and Connor.
Had lunch in the park
Made marshmallow Sculptures
Read lots and lots and lots!
We found a new way to have peaceful car rides. Make sure everyone has a good book to read and they stay quiet for hours!
Grandma came for a visit and brought a treat!
Quinton took us on a guided hike at Ross Park.
Sawyer got his binky taken away for good and we all survived.
We sculpted with chocolate.
Took several trips to the library, and saw the animal exhibit at the end of the summer.
Painted new signs for their rooms.
And got some new roommates! Shari, Triston, and Connor moved in a week before school starts. Shari started the counseling program at ISU and we decided we would give living together a shot. The kids have sure loved it. Here they all are watching a movie together with Danielle (not a roomy, just a neighbor.)
