Tis the Season

It's that time of year for seeing Mrs. Claus at preschool, making gingerbread houses, sledding, and getting sick!

Sawyer came into our room one morning and slept for a bit and wouldn't let me get out of bed. I finally escaped and he came into the kitchen a little later and threw up. He was sick for the next couple of days and would just find somewhere comfy and go to sleep. He's pretty cute when he doesn't feel good.

Grandma and Shari took the kids to the museum in Idaho Falls to see the nativities and to see the movie Storks while Barry and I were celebrating our anniversary. They also went sledding.

Clara had a fun day with her friend Makenzie making cookies.

Anniversary Trip

Guess who has been married for 10 whole years? Us! Hooray! We celebrated after Christmas with a day of food and shopping in Idaho Falls. We had fun at Fuji for lunch and tried fried pickles at Texas Roadhouse. We spent the night in a cabin at Heise (once the power got turned on) and went skiing at Kelly Canyon followed by a dip in the hot pool. I hadn't been skiing since high school. We were absolutely exhausted by the time we made it to my mom's house to get the kids, so we just spent the night there before heading home.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is so much fun with kids. We went to Jeni and Nolan's house in Rexburg on Christmas Eve where we played games and the kids got pulled in a sled behind their ATV. Then we went to Grandma's house for a fancy prime rib dinner. Afterward we sang songs and talked about missing Grandpa. Then opened presents. Grandma made the kids all a cute fleece robe and pillow this year.

The magic Santa left.

We were supposed to have 8:30 church on Christmas Day, but we got a message just before 8:00 that church was cancelled due to TONS of snow. The only time in my life I've had make-up on to open Christmas presents! The kids weren't too sad to stay home and open presents.

The day after Christmas we went to Oakley and met Amy and Grandma Jenks for sledding. Everyone was pretty grumpy, though. Must have been the post-Christmas blues. The kids did get sick off and on that week with a stomach bug.

Clara Turns 8!

This Cutie-Patootie had her 8th birthday! She got to have a friend party this year with a Shopkins theme. They had fun making bracelets, breaking a pinata, pinning a bow on Birthday Betty, and playing together. She sure has some cute, nice friends.

We celebrated as a family a few days later. She had breakfast in bed, popped her birthday money balloons, played at Burger King, saw Santa, and we went to the mall to get her ears pierced. She was a little terrified, but really wanted pierced ears so she made it through like a champ.

Our home just wouldn't be the same without our cute, sweet, thoughtful girl!
