Honeymoon

For our honeymoon, we went to Island Park where the snow was really deep and beautiful everywhere. We went cross country skiing, swimming, and enjoyed a quiet first Christmas together. We even tried to go to church, but our car ended up getting stuck on the way and someone had to pull us out!

Our Wedding Day

The morning of December 22, we were greeted with a heavy snow storm. Many members of our family braved long trips on snowy roads to be with us for our wedding. We really appreciated everyone who was there and helped us on that special day. We had a brunch with our family and close friends that morning at the church. Then we were all scurrying around getting ready for the big event. I had one stressful moment as my mom was still sewing bits of my dress five minutes before we had to leave.
That afternoon we were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. After we were dressed, Barry and I were asked to wait for a bit in the celestial room beforehand. We were both shaking from anticipation and thought the moment would never come. Finally we were led to the sealing room. It was a beautiful ceremony. Among other things, the sealer told us to remember three three-word phrases:
"I am sorry."
"I love you."
"Through your faithfulness."
He reminded us that if we were faithful and stayed close to the Lord, we would be blessed.
When we exited the temple, the snow had stopped, and the world was covered in a beautiful blanket of white. I dragged poor Barry all over those temple grounds through snow and ice to get our pictures. We had a couple close calls with the icy pathways.
We had our reception in Rigby that night and celebrated with our loved ones.

It was a wonderful day and a great beginning to the rest of our lives together.
