Oregon Reunion

We took a fun trip to Oregon to spend a few days with my brothers and sisters in August. We rented a big house on the coast in Yachats and packed in as much fun as possible. On the way there and back we stopped in Pasco and stayed with Joe and Melissa, which was great!

Before we even left, my mom and sisters stayed with us to get a head start on their trip. Grandma always knows how to wear out the little ones. This picture of Clara and Connor falling asleep on her just cracks me up.

We went through Portland and after getting quite lost in construction we finally got to ride on the tram.

Then just before meeting up with family we stopped at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. Quinton and Clara absolutely loved seeing all of the aquatic life. The coolest part was the shark tunnel.

Barry really wanted to go crabbing while we were there and he found a way. They rented a boat for a few hours and after a lot of hard work in the cold wind, everyone feasted on crab that night. Here is Barry on the boat with Quinton, Jeni, and Triston.

Even though it was very chilly, we tried to spend as much time at the beach as we could. It was fun playing in the waves, looking through rocks, flying kites, and finding starfish and other things in the tide pools.

Quinton and Triston were inseparable most of the time.

We went to the bay at Newport and walked around all of the fun shops. Near some of the docks there were a bunch of sea lions soaking up the sun.

Jenks Brothers Hike to Big Horn Crags 2011

For their yearly hiking expedition Barry and his brothers explored the Big Horn Crags in the Frank Church Wilderness.

There was lots of snow to play in along the way!

Jenks Reunion 2011

We had a lot of fun at our reunion in Oakley this year with Barry's family. We went camping at Father and Sons' campground (the usual place) and his sister Amy planned all sort of fun things to do around a cowboy theme. The kids had a blast and were thoroughly worn out each day.

There was a bunch of fun rodeo activities. Here's Clara trying her hand at the lasso. We also got some fun videos of racing horses.

After camping for a few days we went back to Oakley and joined in all of the Pioneer Day festivities - the race, the parade, and lots of fun with family.

Summer in Mountain Home

Since fall is about here it's probably time to post about some of the things we've been doing this summer. Our days are mostly filled with the usual things like house and yard work, but we try to throw in some fun and excitement every once in a while.
