October

Some random moments from October:
Charles was in town for work so Barry met him one night and they hiked Ensign Peak.
A friend in the neighborhood started a game where you steal Steve the Pumpkin and fill him with treats. It was fun to play all month long.
I worked at Lagoon for several days to get passes for our family. Most of my shifts were spent running Tidal Wave.
Barry and I took Gimli to Antelope Island one night and watched the sunset.
Miles and I found a GIANT cinnamon roll in Ogden at Criddle's Cafe.
I had fun experimenting with my hair for the tea party.
The kids dressed up for singing time. I love being in primary where all the fun things happen.

Halloween

October is one of my favorite times of year. The cooler weather and beautiful colors and excitement for Halloween are just the best. The kids enjoyed the church Halloween carnival and Miles sang songs for both of his preschools. The boys were Pokemon characters and I made Quinton get dressed for pictures. He refused to trick or treat this year and I was honestly kind of sad about it, but I guess he is growing up. Everyone ended up going with friends that night so it was pretty quiet with just Miles, but we met up with some of his friends along the way.

Tea Party & Masquerade at Wadley Farms

This was a highlight of my whole year. I was privileged to spend a magical day at Wadley Farms! First I attended a tea party celebrating the 10th anniversary of the book Edenbrooke with my beautiful friend, Sandy Kingston. My mom made my tea party dress and I had fun putting the outfits together. I even won a book at the tea party for my costume. The food was divine and I enjoyed seeing some friends from my writing group and Julianne Donaldson who taught my class. The castle and grounds were breathtaking!

Then Barry joined me for a masquerade ball in the evening. We ate, danced, watched a magician, and enjoyed incredible people and surroundings. Everything was lovely, fancy, and a little out of my comfort zone, but it's already one of my favorite memories! The dances ended up being one of my favorite parts. I hope we get to go to a ball again soon.

Clara got her braces off! I can't believe how much she's grown in the last two years.

Clara and Uplift

Clara joined the competition team with Uplift this year and she is really loving it. It's great to see her dedication and desire to improve. She had her first speed competition in Logan, did a couple of assemblies at elementary schools, and went to a workshop in Rexburg. I love watching them jump. It's such a great group of people. Warren and I got to go with her to Rexburg and stay with Grandma Decker. Her friends Carly and Ashlyn rode with us.
