September

We kept busy in September with various projects and activities. We were surprised to find LOTS of peaches on a tree in our new backyard. The kids helped Dad pick them from the roof and the ground.

Clara and I went on a date one day and had milkshakes at the Burger Stop.

Grandma Packer, Grandma Gardner, and Shari came Labor Day weekend. Everyone but Grandma Gardner and I had a fun day at Lagoon. I enjoyed spending a day with Grandma all to myself and not hanging out in the hot, hot sun while pregnant.

The dark 80's fireplace drove me crazy so I decided to whitewash it. I really like how it turned out.

It was fun to have a get together at our house on September 9th with Barry's 3 sisters and brother Bryant who all live in Utah. We loved having them over!

We attempted potty training Sawyer for 3 days until I gave up. It's hard to argue with a stubborn kid who yells, "NEVER!" every time you ask him to go potty.

Clara got to tour the conference center for activity days.

Eating cookies and milk.

We were so blessed to have a bunch of ward members come help us clear out bushes in our backyard. It took them 3 hours to do what would have taken Barry weeks of work to accomplish.

Quinton was able to join a soccer team with some boys from our ward. He did a great job.

Clara and I went to her first women's conference at the conference center. It was pretty neat once I finally found a parking spot!

Grandma Packer was super nice and got us a season pass to the aquarium. The kids love it there. It was really neat to feed the parakeets and the kids like the little fish that attach to your skin and nibble on it. (While I sit in the background shuddering.)

We were able to go to Oakley for a visit one weekend. The kids were super excited Grandma Jenks still had some raspberries in her garden.

Settling In

We spent August settling into our new house and getting to know Kaysville. It was pretty hot during August so we tried to find ways to cool off. We played in shaving cream, got Fiiz drinks, and checked out the local splash park. We also made it to some yard sales and found BYU and Green Bay costumes, which Quinton was excited about because he's decided to love football. I, on the other hand, will never love the sport but with 5 boys in this house we're a little doomed.

Back to School

The first day of school - Mom's favorite day of the year! The kids started at a new school this year in Kaysville, Windridge Elementary. Quinton has Mrs. Gilbreath, Clara has Mrs. Williams, and Warren has Mrs. Sheets. We really tried to prepare Warren to go to Kindergarten because being so shy has been a problem for him at preschool and church and I was pretty worried he wouldn't go, but he went in the first day and did amazing and hasn't had trouble going. I'm so proud of him! After a couple weeks of me walking to school with them, they're able to walk to school on their own together now. It's nice to be close to the school in a safe neighborhood.

Idaho Trip for the Eclipse

A couple weeks after we moved to Kaysville, we headed back to Idaho for a fun weekend. Barry and I went to The Piano Guys concert in Pocatello with Jeni and Shari. Then we stayed with Jeni for a couple days. They have a lot of fun things to do in their house and on their 10 acres. Warren and Quinton went for a ride in the ATV with Uncle Nolan and Sawyer loved playing Frisbee with cousin Steven. We were able to go to Scout Hollow to watch the full solar eclipse. It was amazing! Barry had to work so he missed it, but the kids all thought it was neat too. The not so fun part was the 6-hour drive home late that night due to traffic. I didn't think I'd survive driving so late with all the kids by myself, but we managed to make it.

Moving

July was a crazy month with all we had going on. Selling and buying houses, family reunions, and lots more to keep us busy. We were sad to leave our house in Pocatello. We loved being close to family and our neighborhood. Clara had a really hard time leaving Danielle. And all the boys were sad to leave Triston and Connor. Quinton and Warren each got to have their own sleepover at Shari's before we left. I'm going to miss the sunset views from our back deck. We also went to the splash park one last time. Sawyer came with Mom and Dad to Utah when we closed on the houses and moved in while the older kids stayed with Grandma and Shari and had fun at Tautphaus Park Zoo.

Farewell to Friends

We were sad to say goodbye to our friends in Pocatello. Tried to get the kids together one last time with their friends. Clara was especially sad to leave our neighbor, Danielle. We also played with Emma, Clark and Kayloni, and had Skylar over to visit Quinton.
