Florida Part One

We decided to take Quinton on a senior trip this year for fall break and he wanted somewhere tropical so we went to southern Florida for 4 days to have some adventures.

We started with a wildlife demonstration and an airboat ride in the Everglades.

Then we explored Little Havana and ate a bunch of food.

The next day we went to Islamorada. Barry and Quinton went on a fishing tour, but unfortunately the boat broke down and Quinton was sick. Barry did catch one fish, though.

Then they fed the Tarpon and we saw manatees.

And I took them to a little beach with a million little crabs running all over. And we explored Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Park, which was cool except for the mosquitos and giant spiders.

 

September

September highlights included a school carnival.

A primary activity where they made boats and floated them down the gulley.

Miles being weird on a hike.

Lots of soccer for these guys.

And I went on a trail run with my friend Lucia from East Wilderness Park to Adams Canyon Trail.

 

Fall & Family

The day of homecoming Barry took Warren and Sawyer, along with Cambry and Colby, on a hike/run up to Clyde Lake in the Uintas. They went fishing and exploring together. Cambry and Colby also came over to our house for dinner. It's so fun having nieces and nephews nearby at college.

The next day I begged everyone to go up to Snow Basin to see all the fall leaves. We hiked around a little and took photos.

 

Homecoming

Quinton and Clara had a great time at homecoming with their dates Devin and Aleigha. I'm so glad they go to dances and make memories with their friends.

Clara Fights Fires

Out of nowhere one day Clara asked if she could sign up for a firefighter camp with the Salt Lake City Fire Department called Camp Athena. They have a full day for teen girls to go and do all the cool firefighting things like use a fire hose, pull someone out of a burning building, repel, and more. She LOVED it and is now determined to be a firefighter some day! These pictures aren't all of her, but show what she did.

 

Bear River Hot Springs Summers Reunion

We spent a fun weekend in Riverdale at Bear River Hot Springs with my family. Everyone but Clint was able to be there. 

We stopped at Casper's for ice cream on the way there.

The batter on our van kind of exploded acid all over, so that was fun to deal with.

We were excited to float the river, but things got a little too exciting when we ran out of kayaks and sent mostly kids down a river with a waterfall we didn't know about. We lost Connor and Miles for a bit but eventually they were found and everyone survived with just a few bumps and scrapes.

We visited Grandpa Packer. We also played games, ate good food, and just enjoyed each other's company.
