March

Life always speeds up a little in March. 

Sawyer started us off with a Battle of the Books competition.

Warren went on his first overnighter/sledding trip as a deacon.

We played a fun dice game for family home evening.

Warren finished his basketball season.

Warren was J.R.R. Tolkien for the 6th grade wax museum.

Sawyer broke the school record for most digits of pi memorized on pi day - 205 digits!!

Miles went on a hike with Dad and the young men.

I also caught a cute moment with him and his friends, Jimmy and Elyse, in the backayrd.

Barry saw his cousin Stephen for the first time in years. It was nice to visit with him and his wife, Sabrina.

 

Easter

Easter was early this year (March 31st) and the same weekend as Clara's competition. Barry took the boys to Oakley for a couple days, though, and they enjoyed being with their cousins. When we all got home on Sunday it was cold and rainy so we did an indoor egg hunt. It took the kids a very long time to find the golden egg in a jacket pocket in the front room.

 

Clara Competes in Denver

Clara and I went to Denver at the end of March so she could compete with her jump rope team at the Colorado Classic. She did an amazing job at the competition! We also went on some fun adventures with her team. We stopped at the famous Buc-ee's gas station, visited the butterfly pavilion, Hammond's Candy Store, and the Buffalo Bill Museum. It was a lot of driving, but such a cool experience for Clara to do with her team.

 

Get Out Pass

We have been putting our Get Out Passes to use this month. We went to Fly High Trampoline Park in Ogden, rode the Ferris wheel at Scheels, and went to a Utah Grizzlies game. None of us had ever watched hockey before, so that was fun. Miles wasn't super excited about taking a photo with the mascot. Afterward we got yogurt at Menchie's.

 

Vineyard Gold Rush

We've really enjoyed running the Vineyard Gold Rush race the past few years. It keeps us active during the colder months and they usually make it pretty fun. Everyone ran really well. This was Miles's second 5K, but he ran it super fast! I tried to keep up with him, but after the first mile, I had to send him ahead to get Clara.

 

Quinton Gets His Braces Off

It took a lot of convincing to get Quinton to get braces on the summer before his freshman year, but it ended up being a great thing for him. And he even got them off a few months earlier than we thought he would. Love his smile! The crazy thing is seeing how much he's grown up in less than two years.

 

Miles Goes on a Field Trip

Miles went on a fun field trip with his kindergarten class to the Tree House Museum and I got to go with him! He had fun playing, crafting, and learning about local heroes.
