Brothers Hike Part 2: Wind River Mountains

Barry and Quinton attempted their toughest hike ever, going from one end of the Wind River range to the other with Charles, Michael, and some cousins. It took seven days and six nights. They had some rough terrain and wet weather, but they made it. They both said it was the hardest thing they've ever done, but it made for some great memories.

 

Oakley Pioneer Day

We had a fun, short weekend in Oakley doing all the usual Pioneer Day stuff. The kids floated the canal with their cousins. We ran the Goose Creek Runoff. Warren and Barry did the 10K, Quinton, Sawyer, Clara, and I did the 5K. And Miles ran the mile kids' race, but he fell and skinned his knee, so he had a rough time. 

 

California Here We Come

My niece Rachel married Timo in July, so we decided to make a fun trip out of it. We took Quinton and Clara on their first plane ride and went to Orlando Studios. It was so much fun! I hope we get to go back again. We also spent some time at the beach and of course a day celebrating Rachel and Timo before we drove back home. Amy was super nice to watch the younger boys for us while we were gone.

 

Independence Day

The 4th of July was a sad day for our community this year. I was walking with Clara in the parade when they stopped everything because a young girl from a cheerleading group was run over by a trailer and died. Everything was canceled and we felt so bad for everyone involved. Clara did do well in the parade up to that point and we celebrated later with the Briggs family.

 

Brothers Hike Part 1: White Pine Lake

Clara, Warren, and Sawyer went with Barry on an overnighter to White Pine Lake near Logan. Since the other cousins were doing a super hard hike later in the month, they still found something to do with the younger kids. They ended up having a lot of fun fishing, hiking, and stacking rocks. Triston, Connor, Grace, Sidra, Cora, and Oliver were the cousins that went.
